ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN LATIN AMERICAN COMPANIES
Overview of adoption and trends in the region
Digital transformation is a common topic on the corporate agenda, and Latin America is no exception. The mass use of the internet, mobile devices, and cloud computing generated the first of these business transformations.
After decades of hearing about artificial intelligence (AI), recent developments in in-depth learning techniques, data availability, and the growth in computing capacity have brought the second great wave of digital transformation. In it, AI promises to revolutionize the way companies create and deliver value to their customers.
As a result, everis, in partnership with the MIT Tech Review in Spanish, surveyed in six countries in Latin America to understand the vision, strategy, and adoption of AI by large Latin American organizations. Hence, more than 40 senior executives and more than 100 people responsible for leading AI adoption in their companies were interviewed. Companies with more than 1000 employees and revenues above US$ 100 million were considered. The interviews occurred in key markets in Latin America: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru, representing more than 85% of the region’s Gross Domestic Product.
